I love makeup and I hoard. Hoarding also means my stash will just pile up and will end up unused. Here are the major problems I have been dealing with ever since I started hoarding collecting makeup:

TOO MUCH PRODUCTS, NOT ENOUGH TIME TO USE EVERYTHING
Five foundations, lots of eyeshadow palettes, dozen of lipsticks but I  only have one face, 10 hours of being outside. How do I even get to use everything? I still have the first MAC lipstick I got 3 years back and I haven’t used a quarter of it!

TOO MANY NEW MAKEUP IN THE MARKET, I CAN’T KEEP UP
Makeup companies have been coming up with new items not just every season, but almost every month! Who can keep up with that? Unless you’re one of those huge beauty gurus, but I am not. I don’t know which one to buy as I feel like they’re just the same. Plus, who has the budget to purchase different makeup items every time there’s a new one? Not me!

EVERYTHING I WANT IS TOO EXPENSIVE
As I have mentioned in my earlier post, I am a drugstore/high street kind of girl. I admit, there are times I want to splurge. Splurging means I can get it even though it’s expensive, though, I still have to torture myself and think about it ten times before I get that item. Most of the time, even if I am entitled to splurge, most of the things I want are still out of my budget and end up not buying it.

I DON’T NEED IT BUT I STILL BUY IT
As a consequence of not being able to get what I want, I run to my favorite drugstore and check out the display. Most of the time, I end up buying random things just to justify the itch of buying something. I just did as you can see on the image above! I don’t need it, yes. But there’s this satisfaction you get when you have something new. It’s very impractical because I could’ve just bought the expensive one instead of buying cheaper ones which will end up unused.

EVERYTHING EXPIRES SO FAST
I just started loving mascara. I only love using them when it starts to dry up which is usually after a month. So basically, I only get to use it for 2-3 months. I usually don’t follow makeup expiration guides since I am the only one using my makeup but I still feel like I want to keep my mascara as long as it dries up.

I know I am not the only who feels this way. What I want to know is, how do you face these problems?

  1. I’m not really addicted to make up (and I’m pretty choosy when it comes to it, too!) but I can totally relate to this post! Especially this part: “Everything I want is too expensive” and “I don’t need it but I buy it” (latter does not necessarily mean make up)… Hehe oh the struggles!

  2. The moment of truth here.. I so agree! I think that is one of the reasons I didn’t actually become a really dedicated beauty blogger.
    A very nice post 🙂
