I came up with this new series wherein I will be posting any item/event/show that I am currently obsessing with. I am so original, I know. 🙂 I will be doing this every Saturday (or maybe every other Saturday).
So today, let’s focus on NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Desdemona. I never thought I will be purchasing a NARS product. I’ve always been a drugstore/high-street girl. If I can get anything cheaper but somewhat similar, then I won’t buy the higher end one. I’ve always thought NARS is too expensive and that I don’t need it. Well, I definitely don’t need it but when I tried it, it’s perfect! I didn’t purchase it the first time I saw it. I think I tried to resist getting it for a while because it’s expensive!!! (129 AED, if I remember correctly) Maybe 2-3 more visits to Sephora then I eventually gave in.
If any of you guys follow my Instagram, you would know how much I love my warm, copper shades. Among all the shades from this collection, Desdemona was the one that caught my attention. It’s a violet/brown/red mix. I can say it’s a warm burgundy in color. I love using it dry as a wash of color all over my eyelids, but it definitely looks better and darker when used wet. I have been using it non-stop, mixing it with any of my warmer eyeshadows (MAC Texture, Makeupgeek Cocoa Bear or NARS Persia). Here are the swatches:
The look below has been my go-to eye make-up for work. Some may think it’s too much but as you can see, it doesn’t really show up when my eyes are open! I used Desdemona as an overall eyeshadow wash with MAC Texture on the crease. I topped the area where I placed Desdemona with MUG pigment in Vegas Lights. I love how Vegas Lights which is very warm is toned down by Desdemona as its base. It doesn’t make my eyelids look like a shiny copper disco ball. 🙂
And can I just say, whenever I use this eyeshadow, it stays up until I go home! No creasing, no fading even without primer! Have I mentioned it’s expensive? But I think it’s worth it! Definitely putting this on my Top 10 eyeshadows.
